New Law Helps Mental Health Professionals
with their Student Loans
Sometimes good things can come from disastrous events. A new law will provide mental health professionals up to $75,000 toward their student loans for volunteering in Florida's underserved communities, including hurricane relief efforts. Applications for the 2025 FRAME (Florida Reimbursement Assistance for Medical Education) program will open on Feb. 1, 2025.
The new program is part of the 2024 "Live Healthy" legislation package, and aims to create and expand training opportunities for healthcare workers who volunteer in underserved areas of the state in exchange for the financial assistance: a Win-Win for everyone.
The FRAME program isn't new, but this is the first time that LMHC, LCSWs, LMFTs and licensed psychologists are eligible to participate! To learn more about the program, explore volunteer opportunities, or access resources, visit the FRAMEworks Portal.
